Eco Team - Battery Bonanzaeco team

“Battery Bonanza” has gotten off to a good start here at Immaculate Heart Of Mary. The number of batteries collected to date is 649. Batteries are non-biodegradable and can be harmful to humans because harmful metals can permeate into the soil and water through landfill and from there are released into the air when burned in municipal waste combustors. The batteries that we collect will be sent to Staples so that they can be disposed of safely and properly. Thank you to all staff and students who have brought in their used batteries. We will continue to collect your old used batteries until the end of January. Please check around your home for any batteries and send them in with your child. Let’s make our first ever “Batter Bonanza” a huge success.
