Mindfulness is a way of being and thinking. When we are mindful, we focus our attention on what is happening in our body, our mind and in our environment in the moment. With mindfulness, we live in the present and focus on what is happening right now. Mindfulness practices can be helpful preparations for prayer. In Christian Meditation we take our attention off ourselves and give it, as best we can, to God’s loving presence in our hearts.
Lord Jesus Christ, help us to be rooted in prayer,
for prayer is our relationship with you.
Help us to slow down and focus on the moment,
recognizing that you are with us always.
We ask you to bring us peace
as we strive to be mindful of your presence.
