Exploration and Creator Camp – An arts & science camp for innovative and inquisitive teens

Don't miss out on this FREE summer camp. Enrolment has been extended to Thursday, June 14th for students entering Grades 8 and 9 who want to explore hands-on learning in the arts and sciences this summer.

Exploration and Creator Camp is hosted by the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board and provides opportunities, over a two 2-week sessions, for teens to engage in a variety of projects such as science exploration, visual arts and cooking. Literacy and numeracy connections will be emphasized to help students deepen their understanding of their importance in everyday activities.

Programs are offered at three sites:
• Cardinal Newman Catholic Secondary School
• Cathedral High School
• St. Thomas More Catholic Secondary School

Camps are offered over two sessions at each location:
• Session 1: Monday, July 9-Friday, July 20, 2018, 8:30am-12:30pm
• Session 2: Monday, August 13-Friday, August 24, 2018, 8:30am-12:30pm

Cost: Free to HWCDSB students entering Grade 8 or Grade 9 in September 2018

The camp includes all materials and supplies.

Topics covered in the camps include:

Science

Students will perform experiments to investigate the interaction of various materials

Art
Students will create a number of works of art

Cooking
Students will create menus and learn to cook a variety of delicious snacks.

Programs are contingent upon enrolment.
