Toronto has experienced a mumps outbreak in recent weeks, and Hamilton is now starting to see a small number of cases, including in school-aged children.
Mumps is a virus that is preventable through immunization. Please see the attached fact sheet from Hamilton Public Health Services for symptoms, preventative measures, and immunization information.
This information is also available on the City of Hamilton’s website at: https://www.hamilton.ca/public-health/heal ...
Now is an opportune time for everyone to make sure their immunizations are up to date to prevent mumps.
